16Apr12
We are proud to announce that we have recently joined the HDMI Forum, joining a body of industry peers to help design the next version of the HDMI specification, including CEC, we are very proud to have been accepted into the Forum and we are already hard at work with everyone else for the next release of the HDMI Specification.
We are bringing to the attention of the forum the requirements of HTPC users and ensuring wider and more reliable support between hardware and the future holds good things. If you have ideas and suggestions for things you would like to see change, you can mention them in our forums and we will take note and discuss with everyone at large.

Cool! Hope future HDMI version will have even more / new CEC functions! π
Home Automation Control is what I believe is where CEC can improve.
Turn lights of and on depending on what you start to play and such π
Everything with Home Automation is also really hot topic for Google π
Also what about having a CEC adapater that controls Ambilight LEDs π
I of course also hope for 4K 3D and 1Gbps Ethernet support in HDMI 2.0
Will you have an influence on graphic cards and mobos manufacturers, to make them include a simple pair of contacts (jumper) to use the internal CEC adapter?
That isn’t the control of the HDMI Forum, but we are working with various manufacturers to get better CEC support, more news as it becomes available
