EventGhost support in libCEC v3
It’s nearly here, libCEC 3 is our latest refinement to our CEC technology. We’ve been listening to what our customers have wanted and needed for their HTPC uses and we hope we deliver it with our latest upgrades. Probably the most popular is our direct support for EventGhost, our GitHub repo includes a sample configuration that you can use straight away or you can edit it easily to gain extra functionality.
If your looking to craft your own solution then hopefully our Python wrapper will help!, This adds to our C, C++, C# and Visual Basic wrappers we already have.
Additionally we’ve plugged a few bugs and added a few extra commands for different brands. libCEC 3 is a major new release for us and we’ve cleaned up a few mistakes we’ve made historically, therefore it is a breaking release. Kodi 15 has been updated to support it, so we will be doing a full public release to coincide with Kodi’s public release which is coming soon.
If you’ve been thinking about getting a USB CEC Adapter, maybe now is the perfect time as we release all these new features. If you already have one, then you will be pleased to know the hardware will work with libCEC v3 without issue.
